St. George, Utah

Debra Hopkinson Green, age 70, passed away on May 9, 2026, in St. George, Utah. She was born on April 24, 1956, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Arthur and Bobette Hopkinson.

Debra was known for her beauty, charisma, and caring heart. She lived life with a spirit of adventure and had a deep passion for music, entertainment, and sharing memorable experiences with the people she loved most—especially her children. To know Debra was to know someone who embraced life fully and made every moment an opportunity for excitement, connection, and joy.

As a young girl living in Hawaii, Debra had the unforgettable experience of meeting Elvis Presley, a memory she cherished throughout her life. Her love of music and celebrity culture continued into adulthood. In the 1980s, her children fondly remember her coming home from concerts with signed posters from Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, and Poison—there wasn't anything cooler than that!

Debra had a special way of turning ordinary days into adventures. She delighted in introducing her children to remarkable people and unforgettable experiences, including encounters with Karl Malone, Robert Englund, and Kiefer Sutherland. Later in life, while living in Hollywood, she crossed paths with Michael Douglas and members of the cast of Young Guns, among others. One of Debra’s greatest musical loves was Rod Stewart, whose songs were played so often that the cassette tape was constantly rewinding, ready to be played again.

More than her love of entertainment or celebrity encounters, Debra will be remembered for her love and compassion for her family. Though life was not always easy and she faced many difficult challenges, she never gave up. Her resilience, warmth, and determination carried her through, and through it all she gave her family laughter, adventure, and memories they will treasure forever.

Debra is lovingly survived by her children, Cody Calegory, Wesley Coulam, and Ashley Stapley; her many grandchildren; and her five siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bobette Hopkinson.

Debra’s legacy is one of love, adventure, music, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her vibrant spirit will live on in the stories, laughter, and love she shared so freely.
