Obituary

Heidi Elaine Sweet, 59, of St. George, Utah, passed away on June 20, 2026. She was born on March 12, 1967, in Las Vegas, Nevada, to Richard Hernandez and Charlette Scott.

Heidi began her working life in hospitality, working as a housekeeper and server. Later, health challenges prevented her from continuing to work. Above all else, she was a mother and a loving grandmother. She always believed her children could accomplish anything they set their minds to, and no matter what trouble they may have gotten into, she met them with support and pragmatism, helping them through the challenges they faced.

She loved her grandchildren deeply and had a green thumb. She often said she learned from her grandmother that plants grow better when you talk to them and show them love. She named each plant and enjoyed the way they filled her home with life. Her family will always remember the comfort of movie nights, her beloved plants, and the simple joys she treasured.

She especially loved watching movies with her kids—popcorn with extra butter was a must. Diet Pepsi was her favorite drink, and it was a simple pleasure that always seemed to bring her joy.

A celebration of life for Heidi will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Echoes of Faith Church, H8G9+W9, Indian Springs, NV 89018. The church is located on the access road off Highway 95, across from Creech Air Force Base in Indian Springs. The family requests casual attire. Flowers are welcome, and guests are asked to bring a favorite photo of Heidi to be displayed at the service.

She is survived by her father, Richard (Janet) Hernandez; her children, Brandon (Kahaunani) Hernandez, Brooke Hernandez, and Don Mason; her grandchildren, Christian Hernandez, Isaiah Law, Jayden Laster, Amiah Laster, Elijah Laster, Isaiah Lopez, De’Angelo Kind, Aiyanna Kind, Jackson Kind, and Kylie Kind; her aunt, Caroline (Robert) Haygood; two nieces, Charlette Houser and Cheyenne Houser; one nephew, Cammeron Houser; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Todd Sweet (March 8, 2007); her sister, Holly Houser (February 9, 2019); and her mother, Charlette Scott (April 18, 2019).

A heartfelt thank you to the many family and friends who have shown such love during this time of deep loss for Heidi’s family. Your kindness, presence, and support have meant more than words can express.

She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family.
