Jimmy Wilford Lund

Jimmy Wilford Lund, passed away on September 2, 2026, after a valiant battle with advanced Parkinson disease.

Jim was born on November 3, 1938 to Dorothy and Henry Lund in Salt Lake City, Utah and was the youngest of three children. He loved and adored his sister Harleen and was a great support to his brother Jack. Jim also was raised by his grandmother Marie Eichbauer, who loved him dearly.

At a young age, Jim sought out independence and entrepreneurial ventures, including his own paper route. In his teenage years, he was trained to become a skilled printer at the downtown Salt Lake City print shop and shared many fond memories from his time working there.

After graduating from South High School, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Colleen Moore. Jim attended the University of Utah and began working in sales at Lynx Products, which proved to be formative for his career. Jim gained the trust of the owner, Mr. Lux, and quickly learned the furnishings business leading to his own business launch, Lund Distributing Incorporated. This business employed several family members and neighbors, and established lifelong friends throughout the years of operation. As LDI came to a close, Jim shifted into his second career in the real estate industry. He loved helping clients and family members buy and sell homes, create developments, refinish basements, and created many lifelong friendships.

During their life together, Jim and Colleen had four children, Doug, Brenda, Steve, and Jeff, that they deeply loved and adored. After Colleen’s passing, Jim married Louise Gissman and enjoyed their twilight years together. Jim also embraced Louise’s three daughters Elaine (Rob), Kay (Bob) and Laurie (Kevin) and became a cherished grandpa to many grandchildren.

Jim served faithfully in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in various callings including bishopric, young men leader, Jordan River Temple, and as a missionary in the Minneapolis, Minnesota mission.

A special thanks to his many care givers including the Intermountain and Canyons hospice team for providing support for Jim and his family. The family is especially grateful for the Spring Gardens staff and his niece Sharon Roberts who lovingly cared for Jim in his final years.

To know Jim was to know a man who loved his family, lived passionately, dreamed big, and made friends with everyone along the way. If he was going to do something, he was going to give it 110% and this passion was evident throughout life.

Jim was preceded in death by Steve, Colleen, Brenda, and Louise and is survived by Doug (Diane), Jeff (Michelle), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Those who love him can find great comfort in knowing that Jim has been met with a joyful reunion of family and friends on the other side. Until we meet again, We love you.

Funeral services for Jim will be held on September 8, 2026. There will be a viewing in the morning from 9am - 10:30am and the funeral will begin at 11am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints chapel on 1925 E. Gundersen Lane, Holladay, Utah. The internment will then follow at Wasatch Lawns in Millcreek, Utah.
