JoAnne was the daughter of Alma Wayne and Enid Fern Degraw. She passed away peacefully on August 19 at the age of 88.
Survived by her brothers Lynn and Jerry Degraw and sister Sharon Vickers, her sons Dale and Dean Bond, her daughter Diane Holt, 10 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents and her sister Kathy Cragun.
JoAnne entered the world at home on the family’s kitchen table in Salt Lake City on September 21, 1937. From that memorable beginning, she went on to live a full life marked by intelligence, humor, hard work, travel, and devotion to her family.
JoAnne worked for the United States Postal Service and retired the same day as her dad after a long and dedicated career. She enjoyed going for drives, taking cruises, bowling, and testing her remarkable knowledge of trivia. She had a wonderful sense of humor, love of the Utah Jazz, playing card games with family, and swimming.
Her family will remember her as an exceptionally intelligent woman with a kind and patient heart. She brought laughter into their lives through her memorable expressions, unusual food combinations, and the many wonderful stories created during family drives, cruises, holidays, and ordinary days together.
Her influence will continue through the family she raised, the memories she created, and the love she gave so freely. JoAnne will be deeply loved, gratefully remembered, and greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held Friday August 28, at the LDS Church building at 2101 West 3100 South West Valley, Utah. A viewing will be held Friday at 10:00am and funeral services will start at 11:00. She will be laid to rest at a later time.
Please share with all her loved ones. Everyone is welcome to come remember and celebrate her life.
