In Loving Memory of Jose Delfino Lopez Garcia

It is with unimaginable sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jose Delfino Lopez Garcia. While our hearts are broken by his loss, we find comfort in remembering the incredible man he was, the love he gave so freely, and the legacy he leaves behind—a legacy of selflessness, compassion, strength, and hope.

Jose was born and raised in California, where he grew into the oldest of his siblings. From the very beginning, he naturally stepped into the role of protector. Even as a child, he carried the weight of making sure those around him felt safe. One of our favorite memories was when we’d all pretend to wrestle like WWE. Jose would laugh, joke around, and “teach” us how to defend ourselves, always saying it was so we’d know how to protect ourselves one day. Looking back, those moments meant so much more than childhood games—they were glimpses into the kind of person he would become. Even as a kid himself, he was always thinking about his little brothers and sisters before himself.

Jose had the biggest heart. He believed that if someone he loved needed help, he would find a way to be there, no matter the cost to himself. He would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. If he had his last dollar and you needed it more than he did, it was yours. He loved deeply, and he loved without expecting anything in return.

Despite the hardships he faced throughout his childhood, Jose never allowed pain to harden his heart. Instead, it taught him compassion. He continued to love with open arms, to forgive, and to protect the people he cared about with everything he had. He carried burdens many never saw, yet he still chose kindness. He would quietly put aside his own pain to make sure the people he loved were okay, even when doing so broke his own heart. That was simply who Jose was. Selfless. Loyal. Loving. A protector until the very end.

If you knew Jose, you knew how impossible it was not to smile around him. He was the life of every party—the first one to make everyone laugh, the last one to leave, and always ready to create memories with the people he loved. His goofy personality was unforgettable. His contagious smile could light up any room, and his laughter had a way of making even the hardest days feel lighter. He had a gift for bringing people together, making strangers feel like friends, and reminding everyone around him not to take life too seriously.

Above all else, Jose was a devoted father. His greatest pride and joy were his three beautiful daughters: Sophia, age 9, Selena, age 2, and Natalie, age 1. They were his entire world. Everything he did, every dream he carried, and every hope he had was rooted in his love for his girls. Although they will grow up missing his presence, they will always have the beautiful legacy of knowing their father was a man who loved fiercely, laughed wholeheartedly, and gave selflessly.

Even in passing, Jose’s generous spirit continued to shine. Through the gift of organ donation, he gave others the chance to live. His final act on this earth was one of extraordinary kindness, offering hope to several families during the darkest moments of their lives. Even after his own life ended, he continued putting others before himself. That final gift perfectly reflects the man Jose always was. He has always been a hero—not only to his siblings, but now to the people whose lives he saved and the families forever changed by his incredible generosity.

Our family will forever remember Jose for his protective heart, his infectious laugh, his unwavering loyalty, and the unconditional love he gave so freely. Though his journey here ended far too soon, his impact will live on through every person he loved, every life he touched, and every life he saved.

Jose leaves behind his three precious daughters, his loving family, countless friends, and a community forever grateful to have known him. While words cannot express the depth of our grief, we choose to remember him not for the tragedy of his passing, but for the extraordinary way he lived—with courage, laughter, compassion, and a heart that never stopped giving.

You were our first protector, our biggest supporter, our loudest laugh, and our hero. Your love will continue to guide us, your memories will continue to comfort us, and your legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who were blessed enough to know you.
