Obituary

LaJauna “LJ” Rae Enders, age 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 15, 2026, in St. George, Utah. She was formerly of Elsinore, Utah.

LaJauna was born on June 21, 1938, in East Los Angeles, California, to Elmer and Lona Levie. Throughout her life, LJ was known for her lively personality, generous heart, and ability to make people feel like family.

LJ was a talented and hardworking woman who found great joy in the food service business. She owned food establishments and especially loved waitressing. She was known for being talkative, friendly, and genuinely caring toward her customers. Many of those who crossed her path became much more than customers—they became part of her extended family. She loved all those who called her “Mom,” and she treasured the many relationships she built throughout her life.

Some of LJ’s happiest memories were made around good food, family, and laughter. Many will remember the famous Wooden Platter - serving WPS pizzas, green chile burritos enchilada style with strips and hot sauce, platter burgers, and garlic bread. Family gatherings at the Platter were filled with laughter, and hide-and-go-seek was a favorite game played there with cousins.

Her faith was an important part of her life. LJ loved her Savior and made daily devotionals a meaningful part of her routine. She especially enjoyed quiet mornings with her coffee, sitting beneath the shade of a tree and enjoying the outdoors while Sadie ran freely nearby. These simple moments brought her peace and happiness.

LJ was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jeff Burks of Bullhead City, Arizona; Brenda DeHart of St. George, Utah; and Susan Parker of St. George, Utah; as well as two nieces, 12 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, with two more great-greats on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Lona Levie; her sister, Loretta Joan Easton, affectionately known as “Aunt Joanne”; her daughter, Loretta Jo Forbush; her grandson, Jaked Foulger; and her two husbands, Richard Duanne Burks and Bobbie Allen Enders.

To the many people who loved her, she was known by many names—Mama, Mom, Grandma, “Grandma Grandma,” LJ, and Aunt LaJauna. Whatever name they called her, she was someone who made an impression and whose memory will live on through the many generations of family she leaves behind. Her family finds comfort knowing that LJ is now at peace and reunited with those who went before her, in the presence of the Lord she loved so dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the LDS Stake Center Cultural Hall, 3202 Crimson Ridge Drive, St. George, Utah. Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate LJ’s life and share in the memories of a remarkable woman who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
