Merrill LeRoy Johnson

Merrill LeRoy Johnson, age 85, passed away on April 20, 2026. He was born on March 4, 1942, in West Valley City, Utah. He married Colleen Koplin Johnson on March 28, 1972. They were sealed in the Jordan Temple on February 14, 2009. 

Merrill liked to do family history. He also worked for labor rights for the union, he was an active member his entire life. He enjoyed going to church when he felt like his life was falling apart. He loved and enjoyed all his doctors.

Merrill is survived by his wife, Colleen Johnson, sons James and Steve, daughters Alicia and Karen, and 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, son Roger Merrill Johnson, daughter Lisa Marie Johnson.

A visitation will be held on Monday April 27th from 6-8pm. Funeral serices will be Tuesday April 28th at 2:00pm with a vistation prior from 12:00-1:45pm at Early Duke ward 4444 South Early Duke Street, West Valley City, Utah. Burial will follow services at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery located at 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah 84084.
