Paul Darold Johnson

Paul Darold Johnson passed away on September 26, 2026, surrounded by those he loved. He was born on November 16, 1944, in Logan, Utah.

As a young man, Paul served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Korean Mission, an experience that helped shape his lifelong faith in Jesus Christ. He later graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Economics and earned a Master of Business Administration from Northwestern University.

Paul built his career as a Certified Financial Analyst with Smith Barney. He had a keen interest in the financial markets and enjoyed following investments, economic developments, and trends in government. He loved a good discussion and remained interested in the world around him throughout his life.

Some of Paul’s happiest memories were made in Yellowstone, where he loved spending time each summer. He could spend hours upon hours on Yellowstone Lake, particularly when the cutthroat trout were biting. Those trips became a cherished tradition and provided countless memories for Paul and his family.

At the time of his passing, Paul was the father of four children: Paul M. Johnson (Sherry Carson), Rees A. Johnson (Annie Winters), Seth B. Johnson (Emily Graham), and Jenny M. Powell (Daniel Powell). He was blessed with 23 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Paul is survived by his wife, Mitzi Robbins; his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; his brother, Mark Anthon Johnson (Rosemarie); and his sister, Marcia Hendricks.

Paul believed in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Redeemer and was greatly blessed by the powerful influence of Christ’s Atonement in his life. His faith brought him strength, hope, and peace.

In the days leading up to Paul’s passing, Mitzi cared for him with extraordinary tenderness and watchfulness. His family is deeply grateful for her goodness, devotion, and love and for the care she gave Paul when he needed it most.

Paul leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, cherished memories, and a hope firmly rooted in Jesus Christ. His family will miss him and looks forward with faith to the promised joy of reunion.

A viewing will be held on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., followed by funeral services at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints meetinghouse, 155 North 100 East, Providence, Utah.
