Paul Stephen
Stroyne
Mar 23, 1959 — Jun 23, 2026
Paul Stephen Stroyne, 67, formerly of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and most recently of St. George, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Parkinson's disease, and the lasting effects of a debilitating stroke.
Paul was a character in the very best sense of the word. No one loved people more than he did. He had a remarkable ability to befriend everyone he met through his encyclopedic knowledge of sports, quick wit, easy laugh, and genuine interest in every person he encountered.
Paul dedicated his life to making someone else's day a little brighter and a little easier. His sparkling blue eyes lit up every room as he quoted his favorite movies and TV shows. He loved deeply and passionately, taking immense pride in his family and celebrating the successes of those around him. No matter what life placed in his path, Paul never lost his sense of humor, his optimism, or his ability to bring joy to others.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Ann Stroyne; his sister, Christine (Tom) Bezilla; and his nephew, Stephen Stroyne.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Lynne; his stepchildren, Samantha (Dan) Scalamogna and Scott Schiraj; his siblings, Mary Ann (John) Brown, Nancy (Dave) Buckley, Barb (Michael) Sambrook, Dottie (Shawn) Craig, Robert (Beth) Stroyne, Tim (Sandy) Stroyne, and Lisa Stroyne; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whose lives were made richer by knowing him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 17, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at William Slater II Funeral Home, 1650 Greentree Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220, followed by interment at Mount Lebanon Cemetery. A Zoom link will be available for those unable to attend in person.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Paul's memory to ChadTough, supporting research and families impacted by DIPG. https://chadtough.org/
